Walking along a similar vein, a food enthusiast recently delivered a salty twist to conventional ice cream by adding salted duck eggs to the scoops. The video has grabbed multiple eyeballs.
The video was dropped on Instagram by Singapore-based foodie Calvin Lee. He is known for posting food-related experiments on social media. In his latest gastronomical entry, he presented viewers with his latest cooking rendition — a “Salted egg ice cream” preparation. The clip began with the man adding a half-sliced boiled duck egg, coated with salt into a bowl of three-scooped ice cream. With a wooden spoon, he sprinkles another powdery ingredient to the egg-ice cream combo. Soon after, the home chef mixed all the components thoroughly.

Cautious at first, the man dips the spoon into the mixture and takes a spoonful of the item. His reaction was a clear indication that the salted egg ice cream was a success and he loved the eccentric dish. “What a lovely rich, sweet, and salty ice cream packed with salted egg flavour” read the textual layout in the video. He called the preparation to be a 1000 per cent must-try, urging everyone to give it a shot. “Looks like Egg Mayo, but tasted much much better,” the man confirmed.
Surprisingly, some users were impressed by the food concoction, giving a thumbs-up to the preparation. “I’m not even going to think. Take my money and give it to me all…yum yum,” commented one food aficionado. “Oh, this looks good! I wanna try it myself too,” quipped another. Remembering their own experience, a third person wrote, “One of the gelato shops I went to in Bugis does have this flavour”. Meanwhile, many individuals found the Salted egg ice cream hard to digest.
