Veteran actress Hema Malini remembered legendary Dev Anand on his 101st birth anniversary. Taking out some hidden gems from the archives, the actress-turned-politician dropped a string of throwback photos on Instagram. The post features photos from the sets of films, Hema Malini and Dev Anand collaborated on.
In the captions, Hema expressed her admiration for the legendary actor, adding that she missed his “warm presence.”
“I have such lovely memories of Dev Saab who was in fact the hero of my 2nd big release with a top actor. I was raw, and in awe but he quickly put me at ease and behaved as if he was a good friend. This attitude continued till the end always exuding energy that would stimulate everyone,” the veteran actress wrote.
All hearts about Dev Anand, Hema Malini recalled the positive energy the actor’s presence brought to the table.
She continued, “I would never feel low or sad when he was around. His calling me “Hema!” still reverberates in my ears. I truly loved him for the extraordinary person that he was and miss his warm presence even today. Happy birthday Dev Saab!”
Hema Malini’s post garnered a range of reactions from fans and Bollywood stars. Actor Jackie Shroff wrote, “Respects.”
Elated to have been treated to the precious throwback photos, a fan wrote, “We love those movies where both of you share such great chemistry.” One of them remarked, “Ma’am, you are so beautiful… No one can match your aura to this day. Stay blessed always.”
