In a recent press conference in Patna, Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan, better known as Pappu Yadav, displayed visible anger when questioned about gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Yadav, who had previously vowed to dismantle Lawrence Bishnoi’s criminal network within 24 hours, reacted sharply to the mention of the gangster’s name.
Tensions arose after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai earlier this month, an incident that infuriated Yadav. Following Siddique’s murder, he stated that if permitted by law, he would “finish off the entire network of a cheap criminal like Lawrence Bishnoi in 24 hours.”
However, while speaking to the media in Patna on Saturday, a reporter brought up a question related to Lawrence Bishnoi which immediately angered Yadav who snapped, “No, no, no! I had already told you that you should not ask any questions related to Lawrence Bishnoi. I have nothing to say on that.” Despite his frustration, Yadav refrained from elaborating on his earlier statements.
A few days ago when Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai, a henchman of Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the murder on social media. In response, MP Pappu Yadav took to his social media account on October 13, stating, “A criminal is sitting in jail, challenging and killing people, while everyone remains a mute spectator. Sometimes it’s (Sidhu) Moose Wala, sometimes the head of Karni Sena, and now he has even had an industrialist politician killed.”
However, after recently avoiding questions about Bishnoi, Yadav has become the subject of ridicule on social media, with users mocking his apparent change in stance.
