Mark Zuckerberg Says Apple Vision Pro Is ‘Worse In Most Ways’ Than Quest 3
The Meta chief was quick to refute a user who claimed the product is still years behind what Apple had created. Here's what he said.

Meta co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has termed the latest Apple Vision Pro as a worse product when compared to his company’s Quest 3 on social media. Apple released their latest Augmented Reality device last month on February 2. The cutting-edge features of the product sent shockwaves around the world.

Yet, the product has seemingly failed to impress the Facebook CEO. Replying to a post on Instagram Threads that claimed Facebook’s product was still years behind what Apple had created, Zuckerberg said that the Vision Pro only had better resolution. “Their resolution is higher, but they paid for that with many other product tradeoffs that make their device worse in most ways. That's not what we aspire to,” he wrote.

In the same post, Zuckerberg goes on to highlight what he feels are the shortcomings in Apple’s latest product. He says, “I don’t think we’re saying our devices are the same. We’re saying Quest is better. If our devices weigh as much as theirs in 3-5 years, or have the motion blur they have, or the lack of precision inputs, etc, then that means we'll have regressed significantly.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Mark Zuckerberg draw a comparison between the Meta Quest 3 and the Apple Vision Pro. Last month the Facebook co-founder uploaded a video on Instagram where he presented his take on Apple’s latest mixed-reality product. He underscored several points in favour of Facebook’s device claiming that the Quest is better for the vast majority of the people.

In the video, Zuckerberg claimed that Quest 3 has a better pass through capture and it could also have several windows open at once. He focused on the comfort aspect as well, saying that the Quest has no wires to get in the way and is comparatively lighter.

He also talked about how the Meta product has a wider field of view and brighter screens. Zuckerberg further mentioned how Apple used motion blur when people move around but the Quest remains crisp in such moments. He mentioned that their product has precision controllers along with better tracking which allows a nicer gaming experience. The Facebook CEO concluded his list by saying that a user could play Xbox games and watch YouTube natively on the Quest.

Apple’s Vision Pro launched at a hefty price tag of $3499 (Rs 2.89 lakh) whereas, Facebook’s Meta Quest 3 comes in a lot cheaper at $499 (Rs 41,260).
