Rajkummar Rao turned into a ‘mehendiwala’ on Wednesday, much like the character he plays on-screen in his upcoming film Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. In a bid to promote the same, the actor decided to put his hidden skill of applying mehendi into display and got the Internet excited. A video of the same has now appeared on social media wherein Rajkummar is seen flaunting his talent as Triptii also joins in, standing beside him.
Adding an unconventional and wholesome touch to Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’s promotions, the makers organised a mehendi function last night, with the cast and crew of the film in attendance. Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, too, participated with the actor fully engrossed in the scene. The video shows him applying mehendi on a woman’s hands as Triptii witnesses the scene. Rajkummar was dressed in a casual chequered printed shirt with brown pants and white sneakers for the film’s promotions whereas Triptii rocked a traditional suit, inspired by the 90s, to ace the retro charm. Do not miss the backdrop and decoration, perfectly encapsulating the vibe of a mehendi night.
Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video also stars Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat, Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Archana Patel, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania and Ashwini Kalsekar in pivotal roles. The comedy-drama is scheduled to hit the theaters on October 11. In a recent conversation with Mid-day, Raaj Shandilya said, “We are living in a world where any video can go viral within seconds. So, we decided to make a film for the middle class that has a message with a lot of humour and romance. I also wanted to explore the plight of the people at whose expense we laugh. [At the same time], we wanted to explore how people from small towns facing this dilemma would feel.”
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video will have a clash with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, co-starring Vedang Raina. Besides the film, Triptii Dimri is also gearing up for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s release, scheduled to hit later this year. Headlined by Kartik Aaryan, the film marks the comeback of OG Manjulika, played by Vidya Balan in the first installment of the franchise.
