What is Aqua Affinity in Minecraft?
Aqua Affinity increases underwater mining speed. Normally, a player's mining speed will be 5 times slower when underwater. When the Aqua Affinity enchantment is applied to a player's helmet, the player will ignore this penalty and mine as quickly as on land. Players will also move slower underwater and float. However, Aqua Affinity has no effect on the floating penalty.
Obtaining Aqua Affinity
Enchantment tables. Enchantment tables can place enchantments onto any tool or armor. These enchantment tables can be crafted or found. If found, players need a pickaxe to mine it. To craft an enchantment table, players need a Book, 2 Diamond, and 4 Obsidian.
Drops from raids (Bedrock Edition). Raids are random events that spawn waves of enemies that attack villages. Killing these mobs can drop the Aqua Affinity enchantment as well as other enchantments.
Fishing. To fish in Minecraft, you'll need a fishing rod and a body of water. A fishing rod can be crafted using 3 Sticks and 2 Strings. Cast the rod into the water, look for bubbles on the surface, and then reel the rod in when the bobber disappears below the water.
Librarian villagers. Villagers generate in almost all the biomes, so you'll just need to find a village to find a librarian. Alternatively, you can breed villagers to create a bunch of librarian villagers. Librarian villagers can give you items such as enchanted books. Aqua Affinity Uses
Aqua Affinity is only used to increase a player's mining speed when underwater. If you find yourself exploring bodies of water frequently, this enchantment can help you ignore the speed penalty of being underwater whether you're looking for caves or materials. Mining faster also means you won't need to come up for air as frequently. While you should still keep an eye on your oxygen level, you can make far more progress than without the enchantment. If you want to stay underwater for longer, you can also add the Respiration enchantment to the helmet. You may want to make an underwater home if you want a base that is safe from explosions and most mobs.
What is the max level enchantment?
You can only enchant items up to Aqua Affinity I. Unlike other enchantments, Aqua Affinity is a single level enchantment designed to perform a single function. Its purpose is to negate the underwater speed penalty. You can increase your player's speed in other ways, such as using status effects like Haste or other enchantments like Efficiency.
