Mumtaz Says Fawad Khan Booked An Entire Restaurant For Her During Pakistan Trip: 'It Was Just Him...'
Mumtaz shared how warmly Pakistani artists treated her during her trip to the neighbourhood country and recalled how Fawad Khan booked a restaurant for her.

Yesteryear actress Mumtaz shared moments from her trip to Pakistan in April, where she met stars like Fawad Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The veteran actress also called for lifting the ban on Pakistani artists in India. During an interview with Zoom, Mumtaz had revealed that Fawad Khan booked an entire restaurant for her, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, despite being unwell, sang for her.

Mumtaz shared how warmly Pakistani artists treated her. She mentioned that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, despite being unwell, sang for her, which made her feel very special. She added that Fawad Khan reserved an entire restaurant just for her, with only him, his wife, and child present. She recalled, “Rahat saab was not well when we met. But he insisted on singing for me. I felt very special. Mujhe laga abhi bhi main Mumtaz hoon (I felt I am still that Mumtaz),” said an elated Mumtaz, adding, “Do you know what he (Fawad) did? He reserved an entire restaurant for me. It was just Fawad, his wife and child with me at the restaurant.”

Mumtaz had also shared photos with Fawad. They were seen chatting while sitting on a sofa. While she wore a black top and maroon pants, Fawad was seen in a black kurta-pyjama, with a navy blue shawl draped over his shoulders.

Fawad, who became an instant favourite with Pakistani dramas and was briefly seen in Hindi films, the last appearance being “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” co-starring Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai in 2016, now stars in the supernatural show “Barzakh”.

“I have always been very thankful to fans who have waited for me and I apologise for making them wait for so long. But it was not in my hands,” the actor told PTI in a Zoom interview. “I’m a firm believer that everything has its own time… You say that ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ but we also have another saying, ‘aankh ojhal, pahaad ojhal’ (out of sight, out of mind). This also happens,” he added.
