Falaq Rahi marked her Bollywood debut with “Bengal 1947: An Untold Love Story,” helmed by director Akashaditya Lama. The film hit the screens on March 29, and Rahi’s role was applauded by the viewers. The role demanded Rahi to undergo various emotional ups and downs, in a candid chat, we ask her how she kept her mental health in check and also the secret behind her fitness and  glowing skin.

Your skin looks radiant on-screen. Can you share any skincare secrets or routines you follow to maintain such a flawless complexion?

My mom introduced me to a face pack which is prepared using chickpea flour, turmeric, and rose water. It works as a gentle exfoliator and shows amazing results. I also prioritize hydration and maintaining my body temperature.

With your busy schedule, how do you manage to stay fit and healthy? Do you have any favorite workout routines or activities?

Going to the gym every day can be challenging for me, but I’m making an effort to keep up with it. I particularly enjoy walking, as it keeps me active throughout the day and helps me meet my daily activity goals. Sometimes, even when I’m reading a script, I’ll walk around the room to stay active.

Being in the spotlight can sometimes bring pressure to look a certain way. How do you maintain a positive body image amidst societal expectations?

During my teenage years, I felt heavily influenced by societal expectations regarding my body, which became overwhelming. However, when I entered college, I realized the importance of staying fit and healthy rather than just focusing on appearance. I’ve learned to embrace my body in all its shapes and sizes because change is inevitable. Since accepting myself, I’ve grown to love and appreciate my body.

As an actor, you often have to undergo transformations for different roles. How do you ensure your body remains flexible and adaptable to these changes?

I recognized early on in my acting career that I would need to frequently change my appearance for various roles. During my time in acting school, I prepared myself mentally and physically for this challenge. I made a commitment to accept myself regardless of my appearance. Additionally, I continuously adjust my diet and workout routines to maintain flexibility.

What role does physical fitness play in your overall sense of confidence and well-being, both on and off the screen?

Physical fitness naturally boosts my self-confidence and overall well-being. When I’m in good shape, I can focus on other aspects of my life without comparing myself to others or doubting myself. As an actor, staying fit is crucial because the demands of each role can vary greatly, requiring readiness for anything.

In “Bengal 1947,” your character goes through various emotional ups and downs. How do you ensure your mental well-being while tackling such intense roles?

Navigating the emotional journey of my character in “Bengal 1947” was quite challenging. From confidence to self-doubt and jealousy, it required a lot of emotional depth. To maintain my mental well-being, I learned to separate myself from my character emotionally. This separation allows me to immerse myself fully in the role while preserving my mental health.
