WB: 9-year-old branded with hot iron by employer

Kolkata: A nine-year-old boy was allegedly tortured and branded on his face by a hot iron by his employer at Behrampore in Murshidabad. The boy was employed as a domestic help by a businessman.

He was allegedly tortured by the man and his family members who used to beat him up. On Saturday the boy was mercilessly beaten up after he came late from a grocery store and then branded on his face by a hot iron.

The family is absconding and the boy has been taken to a child shelter.

A case has also been registered under the Juvenile Protection Act.
