Thieves smash car, Rs5 lakh stolen

BANGALORE: Unidentified miscreants smashed a car's window glass and made away with Rs 5 lakh cash kept in the dash board. The incident was reported in Muneshwara Nagar in Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits on Friday evening.
According to the police, Rama Rao, a general manager in a private company in Mumbai had gone to K R Puram Subregistrar's office with his friend Devendra Reddy, a builder. The latter had given Rs 5 lakh to Rao and he had kept the cash in the dash board. The duo on their way went to see an apartment at Muneshwaranagar. When the duo returned, they noticed the car's glass broke open and the cash kept in the car missing, the police said.
