Thieves Slash Both Ears of Aged Man in Rajasthan to Snatch Gold Earrings
Hiralal, a resident of the village for over 30 years, was targeted by thieves who had come to his home in search of valuables.

An elderly man in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district was brutally attacked by thieves who severed both of his ears to steal his gold earrings. The man, identified as Hiralal, was found bleeding profusely and was later treated at a local hospital where he received seven stitches on one ear and five on the other. The incident occurred late Friday night in Mungana village, part of the Dhariyavad area.

Hiralal, a resident of the village for over 30 years, was targeted by thieves who had come to his home in search of valuables. After failing to find anything else of value, the perpetrators cut off his ears to remove the two tola gold earrings he was wearing.

The attack caused Hiralal to scream, alerting his family. However, by the time they reached him, the thieves had already fled the scene. The family has expressed deep distress over the incident and is urging authorities to apprehend the culprits.

Local police launched a search for the suspects, but as of now, no leads have been found. Residents are particularly concerned as this attack follows a similar incident in the Mungana Gram Panchayat area, where a woman’s ears were also severed in a robbery.

Authorities were criticised for their handling of the situation, as thefts and robberies have reportedly increased in the Dhariyavad subdivision and surrounding towns. Despite numerous CCTV recordings, no suspects have been apprehended to date. The local community is calling for more effective measures to combat the rising crime rate.
