CHENNAI: The post-mortem conducted on the body of a woman of Kannagi Nagar, fished out from a lake near Thiruporur on October 30, does not show any signs of external injuries or rape, the police said on Thursday.A ‘woman missing’ case was registered after P Deepa’s (22) father Parthiban, an auto driver filed a complaint with the Kannagi Nagar police on October 25, stating that his daughter who went for work the previous day did not return home. Deepa’s body was found floating on a lake at Thandalam (West). “The body was highly decomposed,” the Thiruporur police said. “But the clothes and gold jewels on her were intact.”Following the post mortem report on Thursday, which ruled out external injury or rape, the tissues of her internal organs had been sent for chemical analysis for detection of poison, the police said. Meanwhile, the cops questioned Deepa’s family and her close friend Vinod Kumar (26), who had earlier worked with her in a company at Perungudi. The youth’s parents too were summoned. Upon questioning, the dead woman’s co-workers claimed that she had looked dull prior to her disappearance and was not her usual jovial self.
