HYDERABAD: The Special CBI court on Monday dismissed the petition filed by V Vijay Sai Reddy to allow him to use a laptop inside the jail. Reddy is a key accused in Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy's alleged illegal assets case.Magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma dismissed the petition on the grounds that if he is provided a laptop in the jail, he may tamper with the evidence and that there is no provision to provide a laptop to inmates.Earlier, B Ravindranath, deputy legal advisor, CBI, argued that if the court allowed Vijay Sai Reddy to use a laptop in the prison, he may try to influence the witnesses in the case.Vishnuvardhan Reddy, counsel for Vijay Sai Reddy, said his client was a reputed chartered accountant and pleaded with the court to grant him permission to use his laptop in prison.
