Karnataka State Commission for Women C Manjula did not meet and impress upon the principal of a management college to allow the victim of home stay attack to appear for remaining examinations. Manjula on Thursday had promised to meet the college principal before wrapping up her two-day visit in Mangalore.

Sources in the college told Express that parents of the victim had met the principal. They had informed the college that the victim would regularly  attend classes from August 6.

Letter sent to governor

Following attack on revelers in a home stay on Saturday, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Friday sought a safety assurance from Governor H R Bhardwaj regarding 15,000 IT professionals working in and around Mangalore. KCCI President Mohammed Ameen in his letter said, “These professionals who work on night shifts in ITs require safety assurance.”
