A man has lodged an FIR at Town police station in Bihar's Begusarai district against unidentified cyber criminals who allegedly cheated him of Rs 29 lakh after telling him that he had won a Rs one crore lucky draw.

Sanoj Kumar, a native of Pokhariya village, had received an SMS, reportedly from Pakistan, informing him that he had won Rs one crore in lucky draw of a private telecom operator which he would receive from the nearest Bank of India branch in due course of time, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkishore said on Tuesday.

Kumar was asked to deposit Rs 29 lakh as taxes in various bank accounts for being eligible to receive the reward, which he did, he said.

He later realised that he had been duped by cyber criminals and lodged an FIR against unidentified persons, Rajkishore said.

The police was probing the matter and the bank accounts in which the complainant deposited Rs 29 lakh was being investigated, the DSP added.
