BHUBANESWAR: Expressing concern over  instances of child right violations, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights chairperson Saraswati Hemburn said it could be minimised if Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) was implemented properly. She was speaking at a workshop on the role of civil society in the implementation and monitoring of ICPS.   The focus of the workshop was to increase awareness among the organisations involved in the implementation of ICPS. It is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development  of the Central Government which aims to integrate various child protection schemes.  L N Nanda of the Unicef said the deficiency in the implementation of child protection schemes can be removed through ICPS. Stating that the absence of a proper database creates problems in monitoring the situation and approaching the Government for funds, he requested the participants to create a database of vulnerable areas.  The workshop was organised by Orissa Alliance on Convention on Rights of the Child.
