Over 30 flamingos died after crashing into a plane near Maharashtra’s Mumbai. According to sources, the migratory birds struck an Emirates flight near Mumbai, due to which the plane suffered severe damage.
During searches late Monday night, around 29 bodies of flamingos were retrieved while four to five more carcasses were found on Tuesday morning.
Till the time the report was filed, there was no reaction from the airline on this count.
The wetlands along the coast of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai are a well-known habitat for flamingos. The migratory birds arrive on these shorelines around December and are spotted till March and April.
