SAMBALPUR: With the Congress and BJD tied at eight seats each in the 19-member Zilla Parishad all eyes are now set on the elections to two seats in Rengali block slated for Sunday. The BJP so far has won only one seat.In the fourth phase on Friday, Sambalpur district saw polling in Dhankauda Zone I and II and Kuchinda Zone I and II. While Congress candidates Santanu Hota, Antaryami Bag and Anita Singh are ahead in Dhankauda I, Dhankauda II and Kuchinda II respectively, BJD candidate Pratap Chandra Patel has won from Kuchinda I. In fact, Anita Singh is the Congress candidate for the Zilla Parishad president post with the seat reserved for SC (Woman).  Jharsuguda Congress MLA Naba Kishore Das exuded confidence that Congress will form ZP by registering win in both seats of Rengali block.Explaining that Rengali had voted Congress MLA Duryodhan Gardia in the last Assembly election, he said victory of Congress in the neighbouring Jharsuguda will influence results. In case the Congress and the BJD win one seat each, it will throw up piquant situation with little possibility of the lone BJP candidate supporting either parties. On the other hand, BJD District President Rohit Pujari said his party has demolished all Congress citadels in the State and it will repeat the feat in Sambalpur.
