Chennai:Income tax authorities have raided music director AR Rahman's house in Chennai.
The raids, which started at 0800 hrs IST (+5.30 GMT), are still on.
IT sleuths have also raided the residences of many other popular film actors, music directors and producers of the Tamil film industry.
Those in the IT net include actors Vijay, Vikram, Trisha and Sneha.
Music Director and Maestro Ilayaraja's son Yuvan Shankar Raja, producer of Oscar Films Ravichandran are also under the scanner.
According to income tax sources in Chennai Rahman has signed an agreement worth more than Rs 6 crore to compose for the stage version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Trisha another target for the IT sleuths is the first south Indian film actress after Sree Devi to sign a film for a about Rs one crore.
