The 2014-15 fixtures also see new Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri return to San Siro to face former club AC Milan in their third match of the season.

Milan: Serie A champion Juventus will kick off their bid for a fourth straight title at Chievo Verona, while last season's runner-up Roma hosts Fiorentina on the opening day. The 2014-15 fixtures were announced on Monday and see new Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri return to San Siro to face former club AC Milan in their third match of the season.

Allegri, who replaced Antonio Conte this month, was fired by Milan in January. "I am happy for Max because he is a great coach and he is now in charge of the champions of Italy," Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said. "It will be a great game."

It's a difficult start for new Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi, who is in his first season as a senior team coach, as Milan also hosts Lazio on the opening day.

Inter Milan kicks off its season at Torino. The first Milan derby of the season will take place in week 12.

Juventus and Roma both face tricky penultimate matches, with the defending champion hosting Napoli before ending its campaign at Hellas Verona. Roma entertains Palermo on the final day, a week after a derby match against fierce city rival Lazio.

Last season's top two face each other in the sixth round of fixtures, at Juventus Stadium.

Meanwhile, Serie B champion Palermo celebrates its return to the top flight with a home match against Sampdoria, with runner-up Empoli visiting Udinese. Playoff winner Cesena hosts Parma. The season starts the weekend of August 31 and ends on May 31.
