Jacob Fatu made a roaring debut at the Friday Night SmackDown. Fatu, who has plied his trade in the independent circuit for more than a decade, has partnered with Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to become the new member of the Bloodline family. On his first day with WWE, Cody Rhodes was slated to face off against Sikoa in a one-on-one bout. The match saw interference from Tonga and Loa, who launched a surprise attack on Rhodes at the ringside. That’s when Kevin Owens and Randy Orton came forward to help the Undisputed WWE Champion. The trio then took down Tonga and Loa before shifting their focus to Sikoa, who received some brutal treatments before Fatu made a sudden appearance.
Jacob Fatu was quick to take down Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton with a super kick. Kevin Owens came running to assist his friends but failed to save them from the ire of Fatu. The Bloodline member went hard on Rhodes and smashed him on the announce desk. Once his opponents were down, Fatu went into the ring and celebrated the win with Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.
Jacob Fatu has worked with several independent promotions like PCW, AAW, GCW and West Coast Pro before becoming a free agent in February this year. He is the son of former WWE star Sam Fatu and the nephew of the legendary Rikishi and Umaga.
Fatu started making noise during his time with Major League Wrestling. He joined the company as a member of the Contra Unit and eventually became its leader. As the head of the heel, Fatu secured the MLW World Heavyweight Championship and held the title for a record time. He first defended the championship at Saturday Night SuperFight against LA Park, producing a dominant performance.
Fatu turned into a face after losing the MLW World Heavyweight Championship to Alex Hammerstone at War Chamber, ending his reign of 819 days. For the rest of his tenure with MLW, Fatu worked with Juicy Finau and Lance Anoa'i, forming a group– the Samoan Swat Team. They took the name from a tag team founded by Rikishi and Samu in the late 1980s.
Going by his blood relation with Roman Reigns, Jimmy and Jey Uso, it was anticipated that Jacob Fatu would join the Bloodline once during his wrestling career. He was greatly inspired by the USO brothers and took training under the guidance of their famous father and his uncle Rikishi. Fatu competed in his last MLW match at SuperFight in February.
