Street Vendor's Lay's Paratha Has Desi Foodies Flipping Out But Not in a Tasty Way
Viral Video: Street vendor prepares Paratha with Lay's and internet can't stop cringing at the bizarre food recipe.

In India, there seems to be an ongoing quest to shake up the culinary world, as each day unfolds with a fresh, bizarre recipe that challenges the taste buds of Desi food enthusiasts. Today’s unsuspecting victim? None other than the beloved Paratha. As if concocting Parathas with ice cream, bhindi, and even vodka wasn’t enough, the latest addition to the culinary saga is the Lay’s Paratha, surfacing after a video of a street vendor preparing this peculiar dish took the internet by storm.

Posted on Instagram by the page @foodiejunglee, the video showcased the vendor crafting the Paratha filling not with the usual suspects like aloo, paneer, or veggies, but with Lay’s chips! The iconic blue Masala packet and green American Style Cream and Onion packet are crushed together into a bowl, adorned with masala, coriander, and chopped onions. The vendor proceeded to blend this weird medley before packing it into rolled dough, flattening it out, flipping it onto the Tava, and finally, serving it with a generous slather of butter.

“Do you have Coke parathas too?,” chimed in another, while a third, with a dash of humour, suggested, “We’ve come full circle with this,” came another while the third one said, “Next step : Ab parathe ko bhi grind kr ke momo me bharenge.”

Previously, the internet was sent on a distasteful food journey with the Gulab Jamun Paratha. The video showcased the vendor incorporating two Gulab Jamuns into the dough, revealing that this weird paratha costs Rs. 60. What adds to the strangeness is the accompaniment of this semi-sweet dish with kadhi, aloo ki sabzi, chutney, and achaar.
