Street food in India is known for its vibrant flavours and creativity, but in recent years, some vendors are now pushing boundaries with bizarre food combination just to grab attention online. Recently, a video caught the internet’s attention, as a food vendor in Kolkata took this idea to a new level. Instead of using oil, he cracked six whole eggs into a pan filled with Fanta. To complete the bizarre dish, he then added chopped tomatoes, onions, green chilies and coriander to enhance flavours, which he called it, cold drink omelette. This quirky dish garnered mixed reactions on social media, as many viewers were calling out the individual for coming up with such an horrible idea. While some questioned if it was even edible, others joked that it shouldn’t be considered food at all.
The video begins with a street food vendor pouring an entire bottle of cold drink into a hot pan. Next, he cracks several eggs into the fizzy drink and adds salt. After mixing it well, he adds chopped vegetables, creating a colourful and unusual mixture. The video then cuts to the vendor serving his quirky creation on a leaf. This unexpected dish didn’t impress the internet at all. The video shared on Instagram came with the caption that read, “Most unique Cold Drinks Omelette of Kolkata."

Another jokingly shared, “Enjoy your dinner it might be your last."
“You will get cancer before you eat it," a comment read.
Another humorously suggested, “If you don’t want to eat anymore just watch these videos."
An individual shared, “Bro that s**t looks fire, besides the soda NGL."
One more joked, “Acha hua Angrez chale gaye India chod kar. Nahi to yahi dekh kar suicide kar lete. (It’s a good thing the British left India. Otherwise, seeing this, they would have committed suicide)."
This isn’t the first time when a street vendor used a soft drink to prepare eggs. Earlier, a vendor in Surat gained popularity with a dish he called, Fanta Fry. In this unique creation, he started with making omelette, using three eggs and added boiled eggs, which he served with bread. What’s surprising is the vendor’s claim that he came up with this idea on public demand.
Since the video was shared on YouTube, it has garnered over 4 lakh views.
