Chinese smartphone maker Xioami has recently unveiled its new MIUI10 software along with its latest budget smartphone Redmi Y2 in India. The improved interface aims to deliver on three key parameters- speed, design, and sound. The new version will be available on Mi Mix 2, Mi 6, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5s, Mi 5, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi Note 2, Mi Max2, Mi Max. Other phones that are slated to receive the updated version are the Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi Note 5A Prime, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 4X, Redmi Note 4 (TW), Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 3S, Redmi Y2, Redmi Y1 Lite, and Redmi Y1.

The MIUI 10 software has certain key features such as the picture in picture mode that allows users to continue using one application without having to quit the applications they were already at. Yet another feature is the portrait mode that enables even single camera phones to capture vivid portraits.

Another feature is MIUI’s new ‘Recents’ menu that makes optimal usage of the phone’s screen by showing vertical display of applications in use. This feature supports gestures and makes managing and deleting tasks easy. With Indian market forming a huge chunk of its customer base, Xiaomi has integrated many India specific feature, Paytm being an essential component. Through MIUI 10, the camera of a Xiaomi handset will now permit scanning of Paytm code, prompting the Paytm app the complete the payment.
