Chennai: Homegrown mobile phone maker Celkon Mobiles, as part of expanding its offerings in 4G devices launched 4G Tablets - Tab-8 and Tab-7, priced at Rs 8,333 and Rs 6,333, respectively.
Diamond 4G Tab-8, priced at Rs 8,333, is equipped with Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The tablet has a 3.2 MP rear camera with flash and eight inch HD display and 4,000 mAh battery.
The second variant - Diamond 4G Tab-7 - is priced at Rs 6,333 and comes with 1GB RAM, supports 32GB expandable memory and 3,000 mAh.
For both products, the company has offered Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 discount for college students.
"Nowadays, people want everything on their fingertips and if (mobile) companies are not finding ways to provide these tools they will soon see drop-off in their customers," Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah said at the launch of the devices here.
"Providing an application also offers tremendous marketing opportunity. The companies should enhance their service division to promptly attend to the faults", he said.
"India is at the stage of revolution and we expect 4G technology to push internet usage to an exceptional level.
Consumer demand is constantly shifting towards devices offering multi-tasking capabilities," Y Guru CMD of Celkon Mobiles said.
"Over the next few months, we are all set to launch a series of 4G LTE enabled devices across range of price points," he said.
"With a complete portfolio of quality 4G LTE enabled devices, we are confident of thrusting the next wave of mobile technology ecosystem in the country," he added.
