Bharti Airtel has announced the appointment of Ashok Ganapathy as Director – Airtel Business with effect from July 1, 2016. He will report to Gopal Vittal, CEO and Managing Director (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel.
As Director of Airtel Business, Ashok will be responsible for driving the growth of Bharti Airtel’s B2B portfolio that serves top corporations, government entities and other corporates with end-to-end solutions. He will take over from Manish Prakash, who is moving into a new role as Director - Strategic Alliances.
Ashok joined Bharti Airtel in 2013 as the Hub CEO for Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa & Gujarat circles. He has over 26 years of experience across FMCG, Retail, Entertainment and Telecom sectors. He is a B. Tech from IIT, Madras and completed his MBA from IIM – Ahmedabad. He started his career with Hindustan Unilever in 1990 as a Management Trainee.
Bharti Airtel is in the process of reshuffling its top management ahead of the spectrum auctions and also to boost their 4G business in India.
