A day after the tragic demise of Tamil actor Vijaykanth, clips and dialogues from his iconic films are flooding the internet. It is being considered a way his fans and followers are paying their tribute to the late actor. Scenes from his movie Ramanaa released in 2002 are particularly being shared by fans. The film had Vijaykanth play a college professor who turns into a vigilante, punishing wrongdoers by death while escaping the authorities.
A scene where Vijaykanth is in conversation with actor Ravichandran towards the climax of the film has been going viral. In the particular scene in question, Vijaykanth’s character is in jail after he has confessed to his crimes of killing the corrupt and the guilty. Ravichandran, who plays the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, comes to visit Vijaykanth in prison and offers him a pardon, calling him a leader the nation needs. Vijaykanth declines, insisting that only he has to bear the ultimate repercussions of his deeds. The Chief Minister grants his request for a secret visit so he can see his kids before he is hanged. The scene has been posted on X with the caption reiterating Ravichandran’s words, calling Vijaykanth a leader and that the nation is crying for him.

Another scene that has been going viral from the movie is the iconic hospital sequence from the film. In the scene, corrupt doctors of a hospital accept a dead man’s body as a patient and refuse to declare him dead, instead asking the dead man’s kin to arrange for surgeries and medicine for him to make money for the hospital. The scam is exposed by Vijaykanth. Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) supporters are trending the scene, emphasizing how Vijaykanth battled corruption in real life as well, through his political actions.
Vijaykanth’s mortal remains will be cremated today at 4:45 pm at the DMDK office.
