Vishnuvardhan is bringing his second directorial after Shershaah, tentatively titled 'The Bull' with Salman Khan.

Salman Khan and Karan Johar are coming together again after a quarter-century for a high-budget action film directed by Vishnuvardhan. Reports suggest that the film is inspired by a true story and will feature Salman Khan in the role of a paramilitary officer. The initial plan was to start filming in November 2023, with the aim of releasing it on the big screen over the Christmas weekend in 2024. Now official reports state the trio are ready for the Muharat shot on December 29.

As per sources close to the entertainment portal PinkVilla, the same will take place in Bandra tomorrow, “Vishnuvardhan wishes to commence the journey on this film on an auspicious note and given that his discussions with Salman and Karan started in 2023, he wishes to end the year with a Mahurat Pooja. It will take place tomorrow in Bandra,” the source shared.

The source also added, “The principal shoot of The Bull begins from February and the makers will start constructing the set from Mid-January. Multiple big sets will be put up in the Maximum city as the idea is to recreate the era gone by with authenticity. Salman has allotted bulk dates to Karan and he will be shooting from February to August.”

According to the source, initially, the plan was to start shooting before the New Year, but the team chose to prioritise thorough pre-production. They aim to begin filming once all aspects are finalised. The action sequences in this Salman Khan film will be distinct from his previous works, as he portrays a paramilitary officer. The film is centered around the Indian Army, intending to honor their missions and heroism to the fullest.

The film’s pre-production was quietly underway at the Dharma Production Office in Mumbai, and the team were soon to begin constructing the sets. Karan and the team planned to set up multiple expensive sets in Mumbai to authentically recreate the bygone era, relying on a dedicated art team rather than extensive use of VFX. “Karan and co. wish to put up multiple sets in Mumbai costing a bomb as the idea is to recreate the era gone by with a proper art team rather than recreating them using VFX. The work on creating the costumes and uniforms is also in progress. They want to stay true to the aesthetics. The film is tentatively titled The Bull, and is based on one of the most heroic missions conducted by the Indian Army,” the source shared.

The Bull will be Vishnu’s second directorial in Hindi after the National Award-Winning film, SherShaah.
