Jason Momoa turned up as the supportive friend for close buddies Austin Butler and Tom Hardy and their upcoming film, The Bikeriders. Known for riding motorcycles for years and sharing a strong passion for two-wheelers, the Aquaman star went full “biker mode" to show his support for his friends and also the biker community. In a video going viral on the internet, Momoa is spotted riding a bike with a few companions, headed toward the film’s premiere event in Los Angeles. His girlfriend, Adria Arjona, also joined him as she took the backseat on his bike.
Later, while speaking to the media at the event, Momoa was all praise for Butler and Hardy. “Austin just fits that look, man. He just has that look and is a wonderful actor, and then Tom, I mean Tom, can do anything," he told Access Hollywood.
He also spoke about his passion for bike riding, something that he shares in common with his girlfriend. “I just ride all the time. I travel everywhere and bring my bike wherever I go when I’m shooting. It just fits with my DNA. Instantly, when I get on, everything just kind of goes away. I’m really focused. I don’t think about anything else ’cause you gotta be on it. I love ’em and I really love the old ones. It feels like a time capsule, so I really love the old bike," the 44-year-old said.
Momoa shared that his girlfriend, Arjona, enjoys riding with him.
On the other hand, the film’s entire cast and crew, along with director Jeff Nichols, were also in attendance at the L.A. premiere of The Bikeriders.
About The Bikeriders
Based on a book by Danny Lyon, the film is set in the 1960s, when biker culture was at its peak in the US. It will focus on the Vandals MCs, tracing their journey and evolution, transforming from a social place to a menacing world of violence.
“THE BIKERIDERS captures a rebellious time in America when the culture and people were changing. After a chance encounter at a local bar, strong-willed Kathy is inextricably drawn to Benny, the newest member of Midwestern motorcycle club, the Vandals led by the enigmatic Johnny. Much like the country around it, the club begins to evolve, transforming from a gathering place for local outsiders into a dangerous underworld of violence, forcing Benny to choose between Kathy and his loyalty to the club," the film’s official synopsis reads.
The Bikeriders features actors like Michael Shannon, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, Boyd Holbrook, Norman Reedus, Toby Wallace, and others in prominent roles. The film is set to hit theatres on June 21, 2024.
