The music-anticipated action series, Citadel: Honey Bunny is set to entertain viewers on November 7 and the buzz around it is only increasing with time. As per the latest reports, Prime Video will release the official trailer of Citadel: Honey Bunny on October 15. This action-packed thriller, directed by the famous pair Raj & DK, stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles. It is part of the global Citadel universe which includes the critically acclaimed season, starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
Earlier, the teaser of Citadel: Honey Bunny was released by the makers promising a thriller espionage series. Varun and Samantha are shown in the clip performing hardcore action sequences. Samantha is seen with two pistols, preparing to engage in a fight with two opponents in a scene. She also appears in a fight sequence with Varun.
Talking about the series during one of the promotional events earlier this year, Samantha said, “I never would have imagined that I would do action. But today, for me, being at this event is already such a victory, because, until the last moment, I didn’t think I could do it. I didn’t think I would be a part of Citadel. I’m extremely grateful to Raj, DK, Sita and Amazon for really coming to my rescue. I just had to prepare physically. I am just so incredibly proud already that this is the way it is, this is the way it looks. I can’t believe – this is how it looks,” as quoted by The Times of India.
The Indian adaptation of Citadel is executive produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and seeks to create a series of interconnected spy thrillers set in many nations, each with its own distinct cultural identity. Citadel: Honey Bunny combines high-octane spy action with romance, set in the colourful 1990s.
Sita R. Menon and Raj & DK created the series, which promises an exciting story full of surprising twists and turns. Along with Varun and Samantha, the series features an impressive ensemble cast that includes Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar and Kashvi Majmundar.
