Salim Khan received fresh threats on Thursday morning. The veteran writer, who is also superstar Salman Khan’s father, was on his morning walk when a woman threatened him citing gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name. A new report has surfaced online detailing on the events that panned out. According to India Today, the woman who approached Salim Khan was dressed in a burqa.
“When Salim Khan was out for a morning walk with Salman Khan, a man and a burqa-clad woman, on a scooter, came to him and issued a threat citing gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name,” the report mentioned. It is claimed that Salim Khan seated on a bench at a promenade when the said woman threatened him by saying, “Should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?” The woman is yet to be identified.
According to Hindustan Times, two people have been booked and the police is tracing them down. “The police said the incident appeared to be a prank,” the report stated.
Why is Lawrence Bishnoi After Salman Khan?
Lawrence Bishnoi has targetted Salman Khan for his involvement in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case. Last year, Salman received a death threat through a letter his father found during his walk. In April this year, gunshots were fired outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Later, it was reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is alleged to be behind the attack as the gangster’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the shooting incident via a Facebook post.
In his statement to the Mumbai Police, Salman said, “I heard a cracker-like sound. Then, at around 4.55 am, the police bodyguard said that two people on a bike had fired from a weapon at the Galaxy Apartment’s first-floor balcony. There had been attempts to hurt me and my family prior to this as well. I have learnt that Lawrence Bishnoi has taken responsibility for the attack from social media. So, I believe that it is the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who have carried out the firing on my balcony.”
