We all know about how Om Raut’s Adipurush was a critical and commercial failure but while it failed, reports about Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana assure fans of hope that the latter will do justice to the great epic. The upcoming film Ramayan is reportedly set to be made with a budget of Rs 835 crore, positioning it as the most expensive Indian film ever produced.

This epic production aims to bring the ancient tale of Ramayana to life on an unprecedented scale. In this ambitious project, acclaimed actor Ranbir Kapoor will take on the role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi is set to portray Goddess Sita, adding star power and significant talent to the film.

According to various reports, including a detailed piece in Bollywood Hungama, the filmmakers have grand plans for Ramayana. It is envisioned as a franchise, with the first part alone requiring a massive budget of nearly Rs 835 crore. This shows the commitment of the creators to deliver a cinematic experience that is both larger-than-life and globally appealing.

Additionally, while many movies finish their post-production works within a few months, the first part of Ramayana will reportedly take an astonishingly long time for post-production. According to reports, the post-production work of Ramayana will span more than 600 days.

If the report is accurate, the audience is certainly in for a visual delight. Reportedly, a set costing Rs 11 crore has been built for the film Ramayan in Mumbai’s Film City, with the creators aiming to recreate the city of Ayodhya. The movie will be released in three parts, with a significant portion of the first part being filmed on the Ayodhya set. The initial instalment of Ramayan will delve into Lord Ram’s early years, his union with Sita, their period of exile, and eventually, Sita’s kidnapping. While the creators have not made a formal declaration, indications from reports hint that an official announcement is imminent soon. Reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi started filming the project in April.
