Hollywood star Meryl Streep’s daughter, Louisa Jacobson Gummer, recently announced her relationship with her girlfriend, Anna Blundell, on social media. Multiple reports suggest that Louisa came out on her mother’s birthday on June 22, though this hasn’t been confirmed by Louisa herself. She did, however, share photos of herself with Anna and a screenshot of an article. It read, “We’re Entering a Joyful New Era of Lesbian Fashion.” Louisa captioned the carousel, “Blessed to be entering the Joyful New Era bb.”
Many took to the comments section and wrote how happy they are for the two. One comment read, “Coming out at your mom’s birthday is so iconic.” Another read, “We’ll support you in every era kiddo!” “We won!!! Happy Pride!!”
Although it’s not clear how long Louisa has been dating Anna Blundell, Anna has been featured on her Instagram several times over the past year. In a June post, she shared several pictures with her. She captioned it, “Life is so fun and cool & I’m the luckiest!!!”
Louisa is the youngest daughter of Meryl and husband Don Gummer. She holds a master’s degree in fine arts in acting from the Yale School of Drama. Louisa entered the acting scene with her debut in the TV movie Gone Hollywood in 2019, gaining broader recognition in 2022 through HBO Max’s period drama The Gilded Age.
Meanwhile, this year’s Cannes Film Festival kicked off with a tribute to Meryl Streep, who received the prestigious Palme d’Or at the opening ceremony, 35 years after her first appearance on the festival’s red carpet. Throughout her six decade career, Streep has starred in countless successful films, while Mamma Mia stands out as one of her iconic works, where she showcased her singing skills in several memorable songs. After receiving the special award in the French Riviera, a clip surfaced online where Streep went back to her early days and recalled a hilarious moment when her teacher asked her whole class to sing. Streep left the audiences thrilled after she revealed singing Lonely at the Top by Randy Newman in front of her classmates.
