Jaya Bachchan once appeared on Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati via a video call when her ‘nok jhok’ with her husband left everyone in complete awe. Jaya accused her husband of not answering her calls. Shweta Bachchan and Navya Nanda, who were guests on the show, agreed with the veteran actress. However, Amitabh Bachchan defended himself.

“I want to tell everyone that he has 5-7 phones. You call him and he never answers,” Jaya said. When her daughter Shweta agreed with her, the actress-turned-politician added, “If something serious happens, he scolds us saying, ‘Why did not you call me? There problem at home. You do not tell me anything’. How do we contact you!”

Navya Nanda then recalled an incident when Jaya Bachchan had messaged on a family group saying she had boarded her flight and would be home soon. While everyone in the family wished her a safe flight, Amitabh saw the message four hours later. By that time, Jaya Bachchan was already home.

However, Amitabh Bachchan defended himself saying he must be in a no-network area. Shweta disagreed and added that during this time he might have been on Instagram or writing something for his blog.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan had first met on the set of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1971 film Guddi. They then got married on June 3, 1973, and are still going strong. They have two children – Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jaya Bachchan was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Released in 2023, the film also starred Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra in key roles. The film was widely loved by all.

On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD. He is currently shooting for the upcoming season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Last week, the Bollywood superstar took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and shared the first photo from the sets of the quiz show. In the black and white picture, Big B was seen spreading his arms as he seemingly welcomed the audience to the show’s new season. “T 5082 – BACK to KBC 16th season,” he wrote.
