Goblin Star Lee Dong-wook Reveals Why Is He Still Single
Lee Dong-wook revealed that he’s “too lazy” to date. As per the actor, it is the biggest obstacle in his love life.

Popular Korean actor Lee Dong-wook, known for his iconic role as the Grim Reaper in the 2016 fantasy romance drama, Goblin, is currently single and he has now shared the reason why. Despite his immense popularity in the Korean entertainment world, the star has chosen to stay away from romantic relationships. He, recently, opened up about this part of his personal life and why he isn’t dating. The actor made an appearance on Yoo Jae-suk’s YouTube show, Pinggyego. During the show, the 42-year-old, who has been a guest multiple times in the past, was asked if he wanted to date. His response to the question surprised everyone. Rather than giving a typical answer, Dong-Wook revealed that he’s “too lazy" to date, which he considers the biggest obstacle in his love life.

“I don’t think I can date anymore. I’m so lazy. To date, you have to become friends with someone. I don’t remember how to do that anymore, it’s been so long," Lee Dong-wook admitted during the episode aired on August 13.

Lee Dong-wook is a well-known figure in the Korean entertainment scene. After making his debut in 1999, he quickly rose to fame and starred in numerous hit TV dramas such as My Girl, Scent of a Woman, The Fugitive of Joseon, Hotel King, Life, Bad and Crazy and Hell Is Other People.

However, it was his portrayal of the Grim Reaper in Goblin (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God), alongside his close friend and actor Gong Yoo that brought him much-deserved acclaim and the Best Supporting Actor award at the 5th Annual Drama Fever Awards. He later led the cast of another successful series, Tale of the Nine-Tailed in 2020, which had its second season in 2023. In addition to acting, Dong-Wook has also hosted several TV shows, including Strong Heart, Produce X 101 and his own talk show, Wook Talk.

Recently, he debuted as a voice-over artist for Inside Out 2, where he dubbed the character Lance.

The actor’s most recent appearance was in the thriller drama A Shop for Killers earlier this year. AT present, he is reportedly preparing for his next film Harbin, which also stars Hyun Bin.
