The much-anticipated teaser for Chhava, starring Vicky Kaushal, was unveiled during the paid previews of Stree 2 on Wednesday night, leaving fans thrilled. Maddock Films and director Laxman Utekar surprised everyone by releasing the first glimpse of the film, introducing Vicky in the powerful role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The teaser is packed with intense war scenes, showcasing Vicky in a fierce and commanding avatar. His portrayal of the Maratha emperor exudes power and regality, capturing the essence of Sambhaji Maharaj with impressive conviction. While some may draw comparisons to Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of a Maratha warrior in Bajirao Mastani, Vicky’s performance promises to carve out its own distinct place in cinematic history.
In Chhava, Vicky Kaushal takes on the challenging role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika Mandanna stars as his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. The film also features a strong supporting cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. Set to release on December 6, the film wrapped up filming earlier this year and is already generating significant buzz. The teaser will be officially out on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, known for his work in films like Mimi (2021) and Luka Chuppi (2019), Chhava marks another collaboration between Utekar and Vicky Kaushal following their recent comedy-romance hit Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023).
Meanwhile, Stree 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Stree, also continues to create excitement among fans. The film, which sees Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao reprising their roles, is expected to perform exceptionally well at the box office. Trade experts predict that Stree 2 could earn between Rs 25-30 crore on its opening day, as it dominates multiplex screens across the country.
With Chhava and Stree 2 generating such enthusiasm, it’s clear that both films are set to make significant impacts in their respective genres, promising audiences an exciting cinematic experience this year.
