New Delhi: The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rapped to Central Bureay of Investigation (CBI) asking on what basis has the agency taken up the inquiry without registering an FIR.
The court also asked the CBI why is it taking such a long time to register a case or take a decision on the inquiry given that media has reflected almost all the details of the draft FIR.
The Bombay High Court directed CBI to take a final decision on registration of FIR in the controversial Adarsh Society case within two weeks.
The CBI counsel said that they will need atleast four weeks to complete the inquiry.
The CBI also that they have gathered a lot of documents and recorded statements of witnesses.
Meanwhile, the suspension of scam tainted former IAS officer Ramanand Tiwari still hangs in balance. Maharashtra Governor K Shankarnarayanan on Tuesday send the proposal to suspend Tiwari back to the state government on the grounds that it should seek advice from the judiciary and redraft the proposal.
Tiwari's name came up in the Adarsh housing scam and the state Cabinet had recommended to the governor that he should not be allowed to attend office till the Supreme Court inquiry into the case is over.
