CHENNAI: Hansraj Saxena, chief operating officer of Sun TV Network Ltd in T Nagar, was granted bail by the sessions court on Thursday.Principal sessions judge P Devadoss granted the bail subject to the condition that he execute a bond for Rs 10,000 with two sureties each for a like sum and reside in Madurai and report before the Tallakulam police daily at 10.30 am. He has to also surrender his passport.Saxena was arrested on July 3 for allegedly cheating Salem-based film distributor T Selvaraj of  Rs 82.5 lakh meant for the distribution of Tamil film Theeratha Vilaiyattu Pillai. He was booked under various provisions of the IPC, including sections 428 and 506 (ii), and remanded in judicial custody.Subsequently, on complaints from film distributor V S Shanmugham and film producer Nemichand Jhabak, the police registered two more cases against Saxena.In a related development, R R Gopal, editor and publisher of Nakkeeran magazine, and associate editor Kamaraj moved the court of the principal sessions judge seeking anticipatory bail.They feared arrest following a complaint of criminal intimidation and extortion from Nithyathmaparamananda, managing tru stee of Gnanapeetam Chari table Trust in Bangalore.
