KOCHI: To assess the new safety measures implemented across the city, the Kochi City Police will conduct a review meeting at the IMA house, Kaloor, on Friday. Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the one-day review meet named ‘Safe Kochi, Alert Kochi'.The aim of the meet is to create awareness about the natural as well as man-made disasters and the precautions to be taken by the public in the face of such events.The suggestions of representatives from business, hotel, tourism, hospital, construction and transportation industry will be incorporated to form a detailed safety blueprint for the city. Excise Minister K Babu will inaugurate the People’s Safety Plan by handing over the concerned documents to Kochi Corporation Mayor, Tony Chammany.The function will be presided over by Benny Behanan MLA. DGP Jacob Punnoose, Hibi Eden MLA, Home Secretary of Kerala Sajan Peter, ADGP P Chandrashekaran, District Collector P I Shiekh Pareeth, IG K Padmakumar, Police Chief M R Ajithkumar will speak on the occasion.Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the Comprehensive Digital Safety Project of the city during the valedictory function. Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies K V Thomas, Dominic Presentation MLA, Public Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju and GCDA Chairman N Venugopal will be also present.
