Devotees of Lord Ram will travel to Ayodhya from nearby cities to witness the historic event.

The preparations for the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, are in full swing. Devotees are looking forward to the occasion. Many of them are even planning to travel to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra to witness the live inauguration. The overall area of the temple will span 71 acres and include the Ram Mandir, covering 2.77 acres and divided into six parts, including the sanctum sanctorum and five pavilions — Gun Mandap, Rang Mandap, Nritya Mandap, Kirtan Mandap, and Prarthana Mandap.

The temple is 161 feet high, with three floors, each 19.5 feet. People will be travelling from nearby cities like Agra to witness the historic event. Let’s look at some common routes to reach Ayodhya from Agra:

By road: People who live in Agra or the surrounding districts of Agra can visit Ayodhya by road. One of the most common ways to reach Lucknow is via the Yamuna Expressway. The highway goes from Lucknow City to Ayodhya. Usually, it takes around 7 hours by car to reach Ayodhya. In terms of distance, Ayodhya is 468 km away from Agra.

By air: If someone wants to reach Ayodhya by air, they can get a flight from Agra airport to Lucknow. The estimated price is Rs 1890. After reaching Lucknow, one can also reach Ayodhya via taxi, bus, or train.

By rail: If someone wants to reach Ayodhya by rail, some major trains go from Agra to Ayodhya.

Marudhar Express (train number 14854): The train will start the journey from Agra Fort Railway Station at 6:20 PM and will reach Ayodhya Junction at 4:43 AM. The rain functions on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Kota-Patna Express (train number 13238): The train starts from Agra Cantt Railway Station at 12:10 AM and stops at Ayodhya Junction at 9:48 AM. It functions three times a week on Monday, Friday, and Saturday.

Muzaffarpur Express (train number 19053): The train begins from Agra Cantt Railway Station at 6:40 AM and will reach Ayodhya at 5:06 PM. The train functions only on Saturdays.
