Pune: The controversial McDonald's outlet in Pune on Monday temporarily shut its shop.

Pune Police said, "They (McDonald outlet) have not asked the management to stop the operations. Perhaps it has been done because of the protests that are being carried out."

Earlier in the day, the outlet put up a black curtain.

However, McDonalds on Saturday suspended the staff member involved in the incident. The action comes after the Maharashtra government intervened in the matter.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government will gather the information and take steps against the people involved in the incident.
