Parents give bloody blows to girl

KARIMNAGAR: A 20 year old girl suffered grievous head injuries with blood oozing out when she was beaten up ruthlessly with a stick by her parents for not heeding their order to get married. The shocking incident took place at Kistampet in Chandurthy mandal on Monday.
According to sources, Mallaiah and Lakshmamma have been harassing their younger daughter Bumala Padma and forcing her to marry against her wish. They were also objecting to her desire to wear trousers and shirts. They had often had heated arguments which resulted in Padma deserting her parents and staying alone at a nearby place. And, she took to tailoring to make both ends meet.On Monday, as usual, heated arguments ensued between Padma and her parents. In a fit of range Mallaiah and Lakshmamma beat up their daughter indiscriminately with a stick. With blood oozing from her head, Padma flopped on the floor in a pool of blood. Locals immediately informed the police and took the girl to a hospital in Vemulawada. Doctors said her condition was critical and put her under 24 hour observation.
