The district administration has made elaborate arrangements to conduct the TNPSC examinations for the selection of Village Administrative Officer posts. As many as 38,300 candidates are expected to appear for the examinations, to be held on September 30, in 259 examination centres. A team of 139 chief invigilators would be appointed for this purpose.
To transport examination materials, 27 mobile units have been formed and 16 flying squads would monitor the examination centres. The entire examination proceedings would be videotaped in all centres. A few centres would be monitored through webcasting arrangement.
The district administration has also made special arrangements to ply government buses to help candidates reach the examination centres on time. The Chief Educational Officer has been entrusted with the responsibility of making convenient seating arrangements and providing basic amenities at the examination centres. The electricity department has been requested to provide uninterrupted power supply to examination centres and the district treasury and sub-treasuries, which maintain the examination materials.
Collector Shankar chaired a consultative meet in this regard on Friday in which officials from various departments participated.
