HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam leader MV Mysoora Reddy has bid adieu to Chandrababu Naidu and joined YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bandwagon.Even as Mysoora Reddy was meeting Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad on Thursday morning, the Telugu Desam Party suspended him for “breach of party discipline”. According to sources, Mysoora Reddy was unhappy with Chandrababu Naidu as he did not nominate him for a second term to the Rajya Sabha. After his breakfast meeting with Jagan, Mysoora Reddy drove to YSR Congress Party office where he formally took party membership. He was invited into YSRC by party leader YV Subba Reddy who presented him with the party scarf (kanduva). After joining the YSR Congress, Mysoora said: “Jagan Mohan Reddy is growing into a tall leader. Unable to face him politically, the Congress is using CBI to tarnish his image.” He pledged his full support to the Kadapa MP.Mysoora Reddy joined the Telugu Desam Party ahead of 2004 general elections with the intention of going to the upper house and Naidu too obliged him in 2006. Mysoora felt his growth in the Congress was limited as long as YS Rajasekhara Reddy was around. After the demise of Rajasekhara Reddy, Mysoora Reddy began showing interest in Jagan Mohan Reddy. When the Kadapa MP went on a hunger strike in Hyderabad for fee reimbursement to students of professional colleges, Mysoora Reddy’s son met him, which became an eye sore for the TDP leadership. Mysoora Reddy then said he should not be blamed if his son met Jagan Mohan Reddy. The Telugu Desam leadership reportedly harboured the suspicion that he was extending covert support to Jagan Mohan Reddy, helping him plan his programmes. He fought reluctantly the Kadapa Lok Sabha byelection in May last year against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and lost with a huge margin. It is said Chandrababu Naidu did not keep his promise of sending him to the Rajay Sabha for a second term as he lost the byelection.
