In a great relief to engineering students seeking admissions under management quota, the state government has decided to fill up the seats through online process.
Now, students will not be required to run pillar-to-post from one engineering college to other to submit their application forms.
The Higher Education department on Monday issued several guidelines for filling up management quota seats in minority and non-minority colleges through two separate GOs.
Each college will have 70 percent convenor quota and 30 percent management quota seats.
The online admission for management quota has been introduced after the complaints that many private un-aided colleges were not following procedure to fill up the category B seats.
There have been instances when the managements failed to supply even the application form to eligible meritorious candidates.
Besides, there had also been cases wherein admissions were completed before a formal notification.
The old system entailed a lot of difficulties to the candidates who came from all regions of the state and had to visit each and every college to deposit the application forms.
“There is no need for the candidates to travel from different regions to every college,” the officials said.
