New Delhi: If a report from The Korean Times is to be believed, LG is working on its own smart wristwatch and a product similar to the Google Glass. The report quotes a source, who is said to be familiar with the matter.
"It is one major part of many currently non-commercialised products under development by LG Electronics," said the source, adding, "The company has spared no efforts to invest in products that it believes are must-haves to stay ahead technology wise in the market, whatever the situation maybe."
Though LG's watch is expected to come powered by Google's Android OS, there are speculations that it could run Mozilla's Firefox OS.
Rumours are already doing the rounds that Samsung and Apple are also in the race and may come up with their own versions of the smart wristwatch soon. Samsung is developing a wearable digital device similar to a wristwatch.
The Samsung device will perform many of the tasks of a smartphone, said a source, without giving further details. The source declined to be identified because Samsung did not want to reveal to the public any information about its new product line at this time.
Last month, the New York Times reported that Apple was experimenting with the design of a device similar to a wristwatch that would operate on the same platform as the iPhone and would be made with curved glass.
