Govt attempts to cover-up won't work: CBI
CBI has confirmed that the Additional Solicitor General B Dutta had gone to London to discuss the same.

New Delhi: After CNN-IBN exclusive revealed that UPA Government had maneuvered to de-freeze the accounts of the controversial Italian middleman Ottavio Quattrocchi, the CBI has confirmed that the Additional Solicitor General B Dutta had gone to London to discuss the same.

CBI sources said that defreezing the two London bank accounts that contain three million Euros and $1 mn dollars would not affect the Bofors payoff case and every attempt will be made to extradite him from Italy.

The CBI sources also said that the charges of cheating and conspiracy to cheat against Quattrocchi stood in the court of law since there is an Interpol notice against him.

They also revealed that the decision to tell the British authorities that there was no evidence to link him to the Bofors payyoff case was taken in November 2005.
