Elaborate security in place

HYDERABAD: The City Police has made elaborate arrangements for Friday’s cricket match between India and England.Speaking to newsmen at the stadium here on Thursday, Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy said 1,500 security personnel had been deployed in and around the stadium since Tuesday itself.When asked if he anticipated trouble from Telangana agitators, the DGP replied that as cricket is everyone’s favourite sport, no one will interrupt.“If any group does that, the spectators will react,” he quipped.C y b e r a b a d P o l i c e Commissioner Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, who was also present, said, “we have imposed some rules which the cricket fans will have to follow for the sake of their own security. No one should bring bags, cellphones, food packets or cans into the stadium.” He appealed to the fans to cooperate with the security personnel and made the match a success in all respects.
