New Delhi: In yet another case of fratricide, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan shot dead another officer in Jammu on Saturday.
The jawan who has been identified as head constable Sukin Seth shot his immediate senior officer, a deputy commandant, at Jammu airport after a brief altercation on Saturday night.
“The jawan had a verbal duel with deputy commandant Nagal Singh of 150 battalion CRPF at around 2030 hours, after which he took out his rifle and fired on Singh, killing him on the spot,” Inspector General of Police, Jammu zone, S P Vaid was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
After the incident, other jawans rushed to the spot and snatched his rife of the jawan, whose name has not been released. However, he was arrested soon after.
This is the first time that such an incident took place at the high-security Jammu airport.
