PUDUCHERRY: Communist Party of India (CPI) Puducherry unit secretary Na Ra Kalainathan said on Monday that his party supported the AINRC in the recent polls as it wanted a change of government in the State.Addressing a press conference here, he said the party was opposed to the the anti-people policies of the AINRC government and would organise agitations against it.The recent murder of a person near the Chief Minister’s residence has raised questions about the function of the police in the state, he said.Party to Stage Agitation Today Members of the Communist Party of India (CPI) would stage a 24-hour fast on Tuesday, demanding the passage of a strong Lokpal Bill in the upcoming winter session of Parliament. The protestors also urge the UPA government to take immediate steps to control spiraling prices of essential commodities. Meanwhile, CPI Puducherry unit secretary Na Ra Kalainathan told reporters here that the fast would begin at 8 am on Tuesday and end at 8 am on Wednesday.
